Our journey began in 2018 in West Norwood, where we opened as an Italian delicatessen, café, and pizzeria restaurant. Founded by a family from Southern Italy, we started with a simple mission: to serve authentic Italian food with elegance, warmth, and heart.
In October 2024, we moved to Westminster, bringing with us the same dedication to quality, tradition, and hospitality. From our carefully sourced ingredients to our welcoming atmosphere, every detail is a tribute to the culinary traditions we grew up with.
The name Mr Francatelli is inspired by Charles Elmé Francatelli, a celebrated British-Italian chef who served as Queen Victoria’s head chef in the 19th century. Known for his refined techniques and love for Italian flavours, Francatelli brought sophistication and creativity to the royal table.
We chose this name not only to honour a culinary figure with Italian roots, but also to reflect our own values — elegance, authenticity, and excellence in every dish we serve.
